Fourteen centuries ago, a man stood on the plains of Karbala, which was strewn with the martyred bodies of his children, brother, kinsmen and loyal companions. He was surrounded by the army of the Ummayad tyrant Yazid bin Muawiya, numbering in excess of 30,000 men and horses and made up entirely of blood-thirsty despots. That day was the Day of Ashura!

That man was Imam Hussain Aba Abdillah (a.s.)
To answer that call and to respond -

Labaik Ya Hussain - (I am here, O Hussain)....Maukib Imam Hassan Bin Ali (a.s.) was formed during Arbaeen 2014.
Maukib Imam Hassan first started operating out of hotel lobbies based in the Holy cities of Najaf and Karbala. We also involved ourselves with various local Maukabs in the 2 Holy Cities volunteering our services and resources. We would provide pilgrims with assistance and food parcels during their journey to Karbala or during their stay in either Najaf or Karbala. We started off with a very small group of 5 volunteers.
During the mourning period of Arbaeen in 2014, we joined with pilgrims from Kuwait who were also running a similar service in Karbala. We started serving hot meals from outside Hotel Jarash on the main Bab Baghdad road in Karbala.
Later on we would identify a location in Karbala to set up our Maukib permanently. We were then fortunate to meet a small group of volunteers from Baghdad, who were providing services to the pilgrims from outside Hotel Najmet Jarash. We agreed to join hands with them and registered Maukib Imam Hassan Bin Ali (a.s.), with the offices of Ataba Abbasiya in Karbala.
We commenced our first service outside Hotel Najmet Jarash during Arbaeen 2014, which was run parallel to the Maukib set-up with the Kuwaiti brothers outside Jarash Hotel.
Through the years, we have increased our services to the pilgrims and as word spread, our team of volunteers gradually increased from our humble beginning of 5 volunteers in 2014 to reach a strength of 80+ volunteers from all across the world, during Arbaeen 2019.
You will find us permanently based outside Hotel Najmet Jarash opposite the Iraqi army base on Bab Baghdad road in Karbala.

We are an international voluntary organization focused on helping make the world around us a caring and humane place.
We are inspired by the timeless legacy of the Holy Household of Prophet Mohammed (PBUH) and their message of love to all of God's creation.
Our ethos is derived from the selfless sacrifice of Imam Hussain Aba Abdillah (a.s.) who was brutally martyred together with his infant child, family members and 72 brave companions on the plains of Karbala, Iraq on the 10th day of Muharram 61 AH which coincided with the 10th day of October 680 AD.
With the help of our tireless volunteers, we provide services to the pilgrims visiting the Shrine of Imam Hussain Aba Abdillah (a.s.) in the Holy City of Karbala in Iraq. Some pilgrims walk towards Karbala from places as far away as Basra, Sammawah, Kadhmain and Najaf.
Our full-time volunteers come from the United Kingdom, Iraq, Tanzania, Kenya, Canada, Lebanon, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia and the USA.
We also draw volunteers from the various groups that visit the Holy Shrines in Iraq, during the period of Arbaeen. These volunteers come and serve for a day or even a few hours.
Apart from our Maukib services to the pilgrims, Maukib Imam Hassan Bin Ali (a.s.) is also actively involved in other social and welfare work. We actively support widows and orphaned children, assist with medical expenses and clothing requirements and also work with various local charities and orphanages to try and make life for the under privileged a little bit better.
Join us and be a part of the legacy of Hazrat Abbas Abu Fadhl (a.s.), the commander in chief and flag bearer of Imam Hussain's army and the loyal and brave brother of Imam Hussain Aba Abdillah (a.s.) All we need is your firm commitment to work selflessly and sincerely.
We accept volunteers from all walks of life and religions.
Maukib Imam Hassan Bin Ali (a.s.) is not affiliated with any other organization and relies on the voluntary support of many across the world. We are funded entirely by donations from the founding members, from ordinary individuals from all over the world and we sometimes also receive donations from the pilgrims themselves who have either visited our Maukib or come to volunteer their services.
