Maukib Imam Hassan Bin Ali (a.s.) - لا یوم کیومک یا اباعبدالله
In remembrance of the Holy day of Ashura, when water was stopped to the family of the Holy Prophet Mohammed (PBUH) by the tyrant Yazid bin Mauwiya and his army, Maukib Imam Hassan Bin Ali (a.s.) serves cold drinking water 24 hours a day at our Maukib.
We aim to ensure that this water is readily available to all the pilgrims and also the nearby army check-points and maukib's.
We serve full meals freshly prepared, 3 times a day during our days of service. We start with the breakfast service at 6.00 a.m. which is then followed by a lunch service at mid-day and a dinner service at 7.00 p.m.

Our fruit service is usually run during the mid-morning time, just before lunch is served, and sometimes late at night after the dinner service.
We run a 24 hour freshly brewed Iraqi Chai (tea) and Arabic Qahwa (coffee) service usually accompanied by, fresh dates, freshly made local savouries like baklwa, harissa and zlabia prepared on site. We also serve the young pilgrims with fresh milk and fruit cakes.

We prepare local Iraqi flatbread known as Samoon for the meal service and also provide freshly baked khubz (traditional Iraqi bread) used for kebabs. With our new burger service, we produce burger buns in-house.
In 2022 we invested in a 5 tier oven to bake fresh bread rolls, burger buns and cakes. We produced over 6000 items daily in the first year. Alhamdulilah, with the growth of visitors to Kerbala, our production by Arbaeen 2024 has increased to over 90000 items.
Mostly for the young pilgrims, MIH would run a ready made cake and milk service at various intervals during the day and in between main meals.
Cakes are usually sourced from the local market and are sealed and factory packed for easy distribution.

Our Maukib volunteers also serve their various communities and neighbourhoods in their respective countries throughout the year, all in the name of Aba Abdillah (a.s.). and for the pleasure of Allah SWT.
